RUSHAB CHOKSI, PHARMD

Co-Founder

Dr. Rushab Choksi currently serves as president of East Coast Institute for Research (ECIR). Dr. Choksi founded ECIR more than 10 years ago with the vision of completing phase II-IV clinical trials.
Prior to ECIR, Dr. Choksi worked at multiple pharmaceutical companies, where he developed a strong background in medical affairs, supporting the launch of several products.  As president of ECIR, he helps plan and operationalize all aspects of many clinical research projects in northeast Florida and central Georgia.  investigator on several clinical trials. He has also founded numerous companies in the healthcare sector, including ECIR Medical Communications. Currently, Dr Choksi provides guidance to the medical communications team on strategy and business development in several therapeutic areas. In his spare time, Dr. Choksi enjoys making memories with his wife and two sons, as well as golfing.

ANKIT DESAI, MD

Co-Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Dr. Ankit Desai is a board certified plastic surgeon and Jacksonville native. After graduating from The Bolles School, he began his undergraduate career at the Johns Hopkins University after which he entered the highly selective Junior Honors Medical Program, an accelerated medical school program at the University of Florida.  Dr. Desai went on to complete his plastic surgery residency and an aesthetic fellowship at St. Louis University & UAB. 
He is founding partner at Florida Plastic Surgery Group, a leading aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery group of 5 surgeons and 6 physician assistants in Northeast Florida. He serves as Chief of Staff Elect @ Baptist South Hospital and has served on Chief of Surgery, Chief of Plastic Surgery at multiple hospital in Jacksonville. 
He has a diverse background in developing and investing in commercial real estate projects as well as manages the investment portfolio for MDB4L Investments. He sits on the JP Morgan Client Advisory Council and on the Limited Partner Advisory Council for Corner Lot Development. He enjoys traveling with his family and golf.

BENJAMIN EPSTEIN, PHARMD

Co-Founder

Dr Benjamin J. Epstein was trained at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, Florida, where he obtained his doctorate in pharmacy and completed a residency and postdoctoral fellowship. Subsequently, he was invited to join the faculty at UF, where he accepted a joint appointment in the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine. While at UF, Dr Epstein developed and directed a successful research and teaching program. He has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics and has authored numerous articles published in New England Journal of Medicine, Drugs, American Family Physician, Current Opinion on Investigational Drugs, Pharmacotherapy, and Annals of Pharmacotherapy.
Dr Epstein founded ECIR in 2010 and has been instrumental in the agency’s growth, while also heading up the Scientific Affairs Division. Dr Epstein’s expertise resides in the areas of allergy, otolaryngology, cardiovascular disease, anticoagulation, endocrinology, pulmonology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and drug interactions.

SAGAR SHAH, MD

Co-Founder

Sagar Shah is the Director of Women’s Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Health and a urologist with McIver Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Shah completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and attended the University of Miami where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Society prior to graduation. He completed a residency in Urologic Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia  followed by a two-year fellowship at New York University in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and obtained dual-board accreditation by the American Board of Urology and American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
